Beautiful Day!

It’s a beautiful day! I’m off to play in the park with my Little Lotus, and enjoying the 7th day of my 10 day juice and water fast. Yesterday I enjoyed lots of fresh fruit juice. It was wonderful, but I could feel the difference from the days that I enjoyed lots of green juice. So today I am juicing mustard greens, celery, cilantro, and dandelion greens. Green juices makes me electric!

I am so excited about 2011. I have a feeling that I’m approaching a fabulous breakthrough. I have so many wonderful ideas for my business, that I can’t wait to implement. For example, I’m writing an ebook to offer for free on my website. It is the first of many gifts that will be available. Life is good and the sky is the limit.

Wishing you a day full of bliss,

Asante

Juice & Water Fast Day No.5

I’m half way to there! The 5th day of my 10 day fast has gone wonderfully. I have enjoyed copious amounts of orange juice, and I experimented with a juice that was something like a soup using Napa cabbage, cucumber, tomato, lime, and jalapeno pepper. It was really good, although it was a very strong juice. My detox symptoms have almost stopped, except for my runny nose, and I feel wonderful.

Yesterday I was invited to join the Sexy Vegan 5 Day Juice Feast on Facebook, so I’ll get to do another juice feast beginning January 3rd. I’m really excited! Fasting and juice feasting (another name for a juice fast) are such simple and powerful tools for radiant health. This quote was passed on to me today from juice feast friend Drew, and I’ll pass it on to you,

“… fasting is not a cure of any disease or ailment. The purpose of the fast is to allow the body full range and scope to fulfill its self-healing, self-repairing, self-rejuvenating functions to the best advantage. Fasting is probably the fastest and safest way or means of regaining health ever conceived by the human man. … Fasting puts the body in a condition where all the Vital Force of the body is used to flush out the causes of body miseries” -Dr. Paul Bragg.

Wishing you phenomenal joy,

Asante

Juice & Water Fast Day No.4!

Today is the 4th day of my 10 day juice and water fast. We attended a Christmas party last night, and I was still able to maintain my fast. I am so proud of my will power! I know there are several groups holding fasts right now, and to you I send my sincere love. My detox symptoms lasted into today. I had a runny nose for most of last night and this morning, but by early evening it was gone. I embrace these detox symptoms, because I know it means my body is letting go of mucous, excess lymph fluid, extra water, undigested food, and environmental pollutants… things I don’t want hanging around in my body. It feels uncomfortable while these things are coming to the surface, but I know I’ll feel amazing once they are gone. Last night I noticed my hands, which have been chapped for weeks due to cold weather, were smooth and no longer chapped. That was unexpected! My hands have also become more slender and defined as I let go of excess water and lymph fluid.

The detox symptoms I’ve experienced over my first 4 days of my 10 day fast have been:

  • migraine headache
  • nausea
  • increased body odor (including bad breath)
  • runny nose
  • low energy
  • brain fog

So far I have experienced these benefits:

  • increased flexibility in joints
  • more slender and defined figure
  • much smoother skin
  • increased optimism
  • feeling amazing in my body (between detox symptoms…lol)
  • decreased cravings for unhealthy foods

I think I’ll include light exercise in my day starting tomorrow. For the first few days I didn’t have the energy for exercise, but I do now. Today I’ve enjoyed lots of water and a big glass of celery, apple, dandelion green, lemon juice. It was yummy. When we returned home from the party last night I enjoyed a big glass of apple juice with a lemon, which made it taste like strong lemonade. It was delicious!

Wishing you the most amazing day!

Juice & Water Fast Day No.2

The fruits in our kitchen have never smelled so good. I can smell bananas from across the room…lol. I can’t wait to eat one! And an avocado, and a persimmon! I can do it though, just 8 days to go. I’ve found, through my own experience and the experience of others, that the first three days are the toughest.

I love fasting, I feel like I am resetting my body. I decided to fast for several reasons. My biggest reason is that I was making unhealthy food decisions. After a fast I find it a lot easier to resist cravings for unhealthy food. Another reason I chose to fast is to start 2011 with a clear mind, body, and spirit.

Day 2 of my fast is has gone really well, although I’ve had a detox headache for the last two days. I am drinking lots of warm water and skin brushing each day which will help my body to detoxify. Today I enjoyed celery, apple, spinach, garlic juice and lots of water.I’m about to drink a huge glass of fresh orange juice. My sweet husband has just gone to the store for organic oranges; you can’t believe how excited I am about that orange juice!

Beauty & love to you,

Asante

In My Flow

I feel so amazing right now that I want to try to capture this phenomenal feeling with words. I am watching the first of five free videos by Lightworker Coach Ka Sundance available at http://www.kasundance.com.  The first video is entitled ‘Am I Good Enough?’. I have watch the first 2 minutes wherein Ka dispels the myth so many of us hold that we are not yet ready to fulfill our dreams and purposes. In this moment, just after the winter solstice and full moon, before the beginning of a new year, and on the first day of a fast, I feel so in my flow and on my purpose. I’m about to talk with Ka Sundance in about an hour and a half for a consultation. I’m really looking forward to it.

Love to you always,

Asante

Green Juice & Water Fast Day 1

I am embarking on a 10 day juice and water fast. Today has been very tough. I knew it would be. I got loads of rest last night, knowing that my energy might be low today. It’s tough now, but  I’m excited about doing this for myself and starting 2011 off at my very best. Today I enjoyed lots of water and a large celery, cucumber, apple juice. I don’t really feel hungry, just icky, spiritual, and optimistic. That’s a funny combination of feelings.

Love to you on your blissful journey!

Vanilla Bean the Adventure Mobile

Vanilla Bean's trunkLast minute tasks are taking a bit longer to complete than I anticipated, but we are steadily preparing for our journey. My goal is to travel very light with 4 sets of clothes for each of us, our sleeping bags, art products, and several small crates in the back of the trunk containing carefully selected things like: water, art supplies, and food.

The back seatMy little one has her very own container that sits next to her containing books, food, workbooks and art supplies. I wrote a list of things I’d like to take including details on where to put them in the car, and in the end we are leaving behind about 1/3 of the things I’d planned to take. One of the things we are likely to leave home is our kitten Max. To my five-year old daughter’s delight, we planned to travel with Max the kitten. His travel carrier is ready to be buckled in to the seatbelt and a crate of his supplies has been packed. But in the last few weeks Max has grown from ‘Max the Cute and Cuddly Kitten’ to ‘Max the Ferocious Attack Kitten’. Is it pitiful to admit that I’m afraid of a kitten? Well, pitiful or not I am skittish around Max’s sharp kitten teeth and needle claws.  He hides behind corners practicing his hunting skills on any unsuspecting legs that are unlucky enough to walk by, and he gnaws on our limbs while we are sleeping. Needless to say, Max is not the kitten to travel with at the moment. The good news is he’s likely to grow out of this painful stage of his developement. The bad news is breaking it to my five-year old that kitty must stay home due to bad behavior.

Vanilla BeanWe’ve polished up our 98 Toyota Camry over the last couple of weeks. She’s had an oil change, tire rotation, replaced radio fuse, car wash, and interior shampoo. She looks great! We’ve dubbed her Vanilla Bean the Adventure Mobile (even though she’s white and vanilla beans are actually brown). Just a couple of days should see us on the road!

Abalone Sunrise Earrings

Last week I added my handcrafted jewlery to the products on my website. I love designing jewlery, and gorgeous adornemt blends nicely with my theme of self-care and wellness. I began designing jewelry at age 13; it’s nice to revisit this passion.

Happy trails to you,

Asante
